Does that detail look right to you? Is that the most sustainable material we can offer? How can we make this process more efficient? These are all questions posed by our new team member, Paul Quast, AIA, CDT, LEED AP BD+C, whom we welcomed to the team as Senior Architect this Fall. We have doubled down on our technical expertise on the team and clients are already starting to notice.
As a graduate of Catholic University of America, Paul knew from early on in his career what his strengths and weaknesses played to and began to align himself with Project Managers that needed that technical eye on their teams. As a registered architect, sustainably focused professional and detail-oriented documenter, he focused on technical building details, pushing for excellence in healthcare design and construction.
Through the design process, Paul is focused on identifying technical, code, and quality challenges from the first sketch. His doses of reality help alleviate aha moments later in the design process, helping save time and money for our clients.
He is passionate about continuing education for the next generation and passing on knowledge about technical standards and quality control and how they play a role in the design process. Paul advocates for QC from day one, working with teams to ensure time and funds are built in for these important reviews.
“Growing up, with his mother being a retired nurse, Paul is excited to take a deep dive into our projects with a detailed lens. “As he states, “Healthcare forms are driven by content and space, the function presents unique sets of challenges that then dictate the exterior design.”
Clients and design teams alike are ready to hit the ground running with Paul to work alongside him to produce creative, exciting design ideas into constructable, cost-effective, and achievable projects.
