The University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center is a brand new, state-of-the-art medical facility designed to meet the changing healthcare needs of Prince George’s County residents. It is the centerpiece of a long-term strategy to improve access to healthcare services in the community.
The new medical center is a 220-bed, 620,000 SF replacement facility for the aging Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly. Offering a full range of acute care and outpatient services, including trauma care, emergency care, surgical services with 8 operating rooms, heart health, women’s health and behavioral health, this new Medical Center offers its community a centralized experience for all their healthcare needs. The facility is operationally efficient and designed to create a supportive, therapeutic environment for healing.
Next door to the hospital, the Center for Advanced Medicine, provides convenient access to outpatient care services for the underserved community. Located adjacent to a Metro station, the medical center anchors a thriving, pedestrian-friendly mixed-use development.
