For the second year in a row, Wilmot Sanz’s talented healthcare design professionals are garnering national attention. Healthcare Design magazine has recognized Andrew Bowers, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, cLSGB as a 2020 Rising Star. This prestigious program celebrates the achievements and future potential of the next generation of leaders in our industry.
Andrew joined Wilmot Sanz in 2011 after graduating from the Virginia Tech School of Architecture + Design. His work has focused particularly on complex renovation projects for a range of academic medical center and community hospital clients. Andrew also leads the firm’s behavioral health design studio, drawing on his personal experiences to advocate for empathetic design solutions that reduce stigma and address the entire patient and family journey.
Previously, Healthcare Design magazine also recognized MaryAnn Wilmot, RA, NCIDQ as a 2019 Rising Star. A third-generation healthcare designer, MaryAnn is licensed as both a registered architect and certified interior designer. She leverages this multi-disciplinary perspective to communicate effectively with broad groups of stakeholders and to explore holistic strategies to advance collaboration and efficiency within the profession. MaryAnn currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Maryland chapter of the Women in Healthcare professional organization.
