New hospital planned to meet the growing healthcare needs of South Florida
Baptist Health South Florida has become South Florida's premier healthcare provider. In order to maintain this reputation and their commitment to the growing healthcare needs of the local community, Baptist Health South Florida is adding a new 131-bed acute-care hospital in a planned development in the West Kendall area of South Florida.
As the facility grows over time, the site has been master planned to expand to as many as 300 beds and to add two parking decks and a 60,000-SF medical office building.
The hospital will feature all-private rooms with designated family zones, state-of-the-art diagnostic and invasive services, emergency care and a full range of outpatient services.
The lobby greets visitors with a tall, airy space with large windows and skylights and is flanked by two L-shaped wings forming the base of the three-story tower. Design elements focus particularly on maintaining patient safety, creating a healing environment and clear wayfinding.
The building's exterior has been designed with the familiar Mediterranean style similar to the main campus to promote Baptist Health South Florida's identity and brand.
